28 Years Later
Been with State Farm since I was 15/16 years old (27 years). Never had an at-fault claim for auto, used them for Home Insurance and thought they were actually the best.
Had a 70ft tall Spruce Tree fall in backyard due to a bad 60 mph wind storm recently. Fortunately it did not damage the house. I have received estimates upwards of $6,800 to remove.
I called my agent to file a claim to learn I was NOT COVERED because my house was not damaged.
Lets's see the math in 28 years:
- $28,000 Auto Premiums paid
- $16,800 Home Insurance Premiums paid
Total $44,800.
What State Farm gave me is $0. I have lost so money with this shit-bag company that IS NOT A GOOD NEIGHBOR at all!
They couldn't even offer $500 to remove the big 70 foot (fell) tree because it was considered "maintenance". WTF???? If that mega-tree fell 12ft the wrong way and trashed my house and potentially killed one of my kids, they would be there.
State Farm is a company that I STOOD BY and they abandoned me as homeowner.
I am DONE being ripped off by State Farm. Useless insurance unless your house burns down or flies away to Kansas. I thought as a "lifer" that State Farm cared - nope.
2019 Update: I made appointments with my SF agent to nickel-and dime all of my policies with them - saved over $500 per year by being a pushy and needy client
